Notes/Reminders
Congratulations Janet!
This week we have celebrated the work of Janet McInerney who has worked at Cardinal Newman for 45 years (since 2nd May 1977!) Janet arrives daily on her bike to help our children with their lunches and to support with setting up and clearing away the lunch hall. Janet is a Cardinal Newman institution and we are grateful for her outstanding service to our school community. Thank you Janet - you're amazing! An inspiration to all of us!
Parent Survey
Please find below the link to our Parent Survey for Summer Term 2021-22. We would love to hear your views about our school and about your children’s experience. Do please be honest (the survey is anonymous), but if there is anything you are not happy with, do also speak to me or a member of the senior leadership team to let us know - we can’t act if we don’t know what the problem might be. We will always try to help if we possibly can. Equally, if you’re very happy with all the work our school team are doing, please do let us know and don’t assume someone else will - our school staff all work very hard and they would love to have your feedback on their work! Thank you for responding to the survey which you can find here.
Bikes and Scooters
It is wonderful to see so many of the children arriving at school on bikes and scooters.
You may be aware that following the hall extension the bike shed has been relocated on the other side of a locked gate. It is necessary for the gate to be locked for safeguarding reasons.
Therefore, if your child can walk their bike or scooter through the Key Stage 2 playground and into the bike shed independently then they are very welcome to do so. If your child is unable to do this independently then the alternative is for you to use the bike rack that is positioned against the wooden fence on the carpark side of the locked gate.
It is important that we don’t have parents/ guardians walking through the Key Stage 2 playground in the mornings, again for safeguarding reasons.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
Year 6 SATS next week 9th – 12th May
Well done to all year 6 who have worked so hard for their SATS this year, many have attended extra groups both before and after school. Please make sure the children are well rested over the weekend, have a good breakfast before coming to school and please encourage them not to worry. All we want is for them to do their best, we are proud of them all!
School Dinners
Please book your school lunches a week in advance.
